It was such a joy to spend some time with Justine and her mother. They both are so thrilled for her upcoming college experience.
She had all her enrollment documents ready. She will begin with the two-year Hotel and Restaurant Management Programme, which will guarantee a diploma at the end of it. She will also have the option to extend for four years.
STI College is the largest information technology-based education system in the Philippines. We visited the campus and we met with a guidance counselor to go over her chosen course.
The start date was delayed due to the floods. She will begin her first semester of classes the second week of November. She will ride a Jeepney every day to attend her classes.
An old friend of mine in Manila, Vicky Barerra, has graciously offered to employ two of our NingNing girls – Justine and Josie (who is a senior in high school this year). Vicky runs a cooking school for children and needs some helpers during the summer break. It’s perfectly suited for Justine’s course of study – Hotel and Restaurant Management.
As early as January, Vicky will begin training the girls on Saturdays and paying them. She will bring them on full-time when summer break begins in March. We are thankful for these “divine connections” being made along the way, providing not only exciting but practical and sustainable opportunities for our youth. God is good. 🙂
Please keep Justine in your prayers as she prepares for classes to begin in November. Thank you!
