Moving underprivileged youth to a SHINING life through college scholarships

The Christmas Party  for the NingNing girls and their families took place on the 21st of December…

Alfredo organizing the party - thank you!

The money raised from the “running for rice” marathon fundraising drive, allowed us to bless each family with more than a months worth of rice, in addition to a gift pack containing items such as canned goods, sugar, coffee, powdered milk, laundry and bath soap, shampoo, toothpaste, towels, bed sheets, blankets and Bibles – wahoo!

Plus, we included a surprise for each girl: a gift certificate to go shopping at a department store (equivalent to Walmart) to pick out whatever they wanted. This was extra special, as they have never been given such an opportunity. Ever.

Alfredo, who graciously helped arrange everything for the party, said the look on their faces was priceless! They were so thrilled that they literally raced straight to the store after the party. Alfredo, his wife and daughter were kind enough to accompany the girls to assist them in their purchases.

All Finished!

I was in Singapore as the party was happening in Manila, but I was able to speak to each girl briefly on the phone and wish them a Merry Christmas – on behalf of all of you too. It means so much to them to know that people from around the world care about them and are thinking of and praying for them regularly.

On behalf of the girls, their families and the entire NingNing team, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous giving this year. It really did make a difference in the lives of the people from this one small impoverished community. May we all be blessed as we experience the true joy of giving, not just material goods, but HOPE to these disadvantaged children in the Philippines. 🙂
