STI had its recognition day where outstanding students were awarded with a certificate of recognition for academic and other fields of achievements for the school year 2011-12.
Justine was awarded with a certificate of recognition for her weighted average grade of 1.63 for the first semester of the school year.
Lour and Alfredo attended the occasion with Justine to give her moral support, as her parents could not go. They must work to provide for the family of six children. Justine’s mother is a street vendor and her father is a tricycle driver, a common mode of transportation in the Philippines.
Justine was appraised for her performance in her on-the-job training. Justine earned an outstanding average appraisal percentage of 98% for her Food and Beverage and 100% for her Housekeeping training. Bravo!
Justine will begin the third year at STI of a four-year program. Please keep her in your prayers as she overcomes the odds of living in the dire conditions of a slum village (which frequently has no electricity) while pursuing her college degree.
